Singletree 1 & 2 was written for the Singletree Trio, a flute, marimba, and tuba ensemble. The first suite features ethnic music: balouza is (a middle eastern pudding) belly-danceable, and the last movement is a chorino. The suites can be performed individually or together as a set.
